History

McDonnell Family

PureHM was originally founded in 1995 by Jim Hunter and Shamus McDonnell as Hunter McDonnell Pipeline Services Inc. In 2014, the company was acquired by Pure Technologies Ltd., a world leader in the development and application of technologies for inspection, monitoring, and management of critical infrastructure. In January 2018, Pure Technologies and PureHM were acquired by Xylem, a leading global water technology company committed to developing innovative technology solutions to the world’s water challenges.

As of 2018, PureHM has grown to over 100 employees serving pipeline owners across North America, as well as three other continents through Pure’s international offices.

Safety at PureHM

At PureHM, we are committed to a strong safety program that aims to protect our employees, those we work with, the public, and the environment.

PureHM has an excellent safety track record with no lost time incidents in over 10 years. Our safety program includes all elements for both Canadian and US regulations in all jurisdictions we provide services. Our safety record has been recognized as a five-time winner of the “Work Safe Alberta Best Safety Performer Awards” which recognizes ~350 companies out of Alberta’s 110,000+ employers.

PureHM is compliant with the following: The Alberta Safety Council, The Alberta Construction Safety Association, ComplyWorks, Certificate of Recognition, ISNetworld, National Compliance Management Serice, National Center for Construction Education and Research, PICS, and Veriforce.

Training

PureHM creates customized educational training sessions and hands-on seminars to meet the needs of your group. Presentations are held at our Edmonton training facility and include comfortable tiered seating for 30 people and access to audiovisual resources. Our pipeline experts are also happy to travel to others locations to instruct material outside the PureHM office.
