Responsibilities
  • Learn to execute various data acquisition and assessment procedures specific to pipeline integrity programs
  • Receive training to install, test, adjust and/or repair rectifiers, anodes, and CP test points / stations
  • Gather structure-to-soil potential data, soil measurements and rectifier data
  • Perform continuity tests and soil resistivity measurements
  • Locate pipelines and document positional pipeline information utilizing electro-magnetic and GPS equipment
  • Perform over-the-line depth of cover, close interval CP and coating surveys
  • Document physical features of installation site for subsequent detailed as-built drawings
  • Assist senior personnel in the preparation of survey reports and final job reports
  • Operate and maintain company vehicle and other equipment

The successful candidate will possess:
  • Be available to travel for multiple days to remote locations ( >70%)
  • Able to work in various temperature and climate conditions – willing and able to spend long days on foot over rugged, remote terrain in inclement weather

Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and PC Skills
  • Surveying and/or GPS experience an asset

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
  • Pipeline/oil field experience is not essential but is considered an asset
  • Previous experience in a field-based capacity is preferred
  • Previous corrosion, cathodic protection, project management, and scheduling experience would be an asset
  • NACE CP 1
  • Applicable technical degree or diploma is considered an asset
